It seems to be official: Nike SB is releasing a second 4/20 SB Dunk High to celebrate the „International day for cannabis-related protests and events“. Besides the already announced „Strawberry Cough“ SB Dunk High by Todd Bratrud, we will see a very limited release of the „Reverse Skunk“ Dunk High. The shoe is a reference to the one and only Nike SB Dunk High „Skunk“ that released in 2010 for the same occasion. The original „Skunk“ is a highly coveted joint that sells for maximum prices.
If Corona doesn’t upset Nike’s release plans, the „Reverse Skunk“ will be sold this upcoming Monday. It shows several tones of purple on the hairy suede upper. Front and rear overlay, as well as the toebox come in a lighter orchid purple, whereby sidepanel, eyestay and collar are held in a violet. Lining and the nylon tongue are all in all a little bit darker, it’s more of an indigo purple. Green accents can be seen on the heel tab, the tongue label, the outsole and the Swoosh. The midsole shows a medium orchid. On the insoles we can guess a skunk graphic like we have seen it on the insoles of the OG Skunk in 2010. Last but not least, there is a black 1/420 embroidered on the quarter panel. Very nice.
We are sorry to say, but most of us will have no chance to cop this piece of sneaker art. Rumors say that there will only be 420 pairs sold. They also say that it’s an Amsterdam exclusive shoe, which means that the worldwide travel restrictions make it almost impossible to purchase a pair. It would be nice to see it be sold in a so called Amsterdam Coffeeshop, but it could also be Ben G, Nike’s SB account in Netherland’s capital. We are thrilled to get to know all the details.
