Faster than expected we see the release of another very nice Nike SB Dunk Low coming towards us. We talk about the „Sashiko“ Nike SB Dunk Low Pro, which will hit stores this upcoming weekend. Release date is set for Saturday, August 1st.
The Dunk Low features a denim upper with light blue on the heel tab, toebox and the front overlay. The lining and the tongue label are also held in a lighter blue but we are not quite sure if that is supposed to be the same color as the just decribed. A dark blue can be seen on the sidepanel, the rear overlay, as well as on the the heel and the tongue. Around the latter, there is a leather seam in a third shade of blue. The „Sashiko“ nickname is due to the embroidered patterns that we see on the upper. „Sashiko“ is an originally functional embroidery developed in Japan, which over the years turned into a more decorative direction, like it is done on this Dunk. Something like concentrical semicircles are stitched on several parts of the upper, among that is the Swoosh. Due to that, the Swoosh offers an unusual look that features no finished outline stitching. A cool detail is the zigzag stitching across the tongue label, that we haven’t seen before on an SB Dunk. What we always like because it always looks great is the gum outsole that sits under the white midsole.
As mentioned before, the release is set for August 1st, 2020, at least for Europe. The shoe seems to have not arrived yet at many German retailers, due to Corona. What we know is that SNS/ Sneakersnstuff set up a raffle for the shoe in their APP. Besides SNS, Würzburg’s Blowoutshop will get the „Sashiko“ Dunk, as well as ZUPPORT, who will sell the shoe instore at their new store in Trier, which is opening on Saturday (but only if the Dunk will arrive in time for their opening).
